Volume 3, A Lot Can Change in a Day

Hi friends!

This blog has been long overdue. Recently, life has been quite chaotic and filled with many big life decisions! I’ve really learned that there’s no wrong decision. Oftentimes, we find ourselves praying for clarity when what we really need is trust. God loves us enough to let us choose, while being sovereign over it all. There’s no wrong decision… it’s just about trusting Him in the midst of where He’s leading us. We can’t possibly do anything to “mess up” His will for our lives. That should fill us with so much peace, knowing that it has been orchestrated so intentionally and for our good!

With that said, the saying, “a lot can change in a day,” has really been on my mind. I came across this worship song called Saturday by Benjamin William Hastings. I really encourage you to listen to it! The song refers to the death of Jesus and those few days until His resurrection. The Friday of his crucifixion was hard. His disciples were left confused, wondering, and asking “why.” It was a clear example of life unraveling in front of your eyes. Imagine following the Messiah, leaving everything you have, then experiencing His unjust murder. The roof caved in. Friday was hard.

Then, we tend to fast-forward to Sunday. We rejoice because of His resurrection. Death and the grave were defeated… hallelujah! What an amazing display of God’s promises coming to pass. Through His death we receive salvation and the forgiveness of our sins. What a reason to praise God!

But what about Saturday? It’s easy to look at the first and the third day, but what about the second day? The Saturday.

This is where we live most of our lives. Waiting for something. Waiting for His promises to come to pass. Waiting for an answered prayer. While it’s important not to lose sight of where God has us now, we are in a permanent period of waiting. More specifically, waiting for Jesus to return. Until then, we sometimes find ourselves still waiting. But what if we started living like it was Saturday? As if we knew that the tide could change in just one day. Then, maybe we wouldn’t complain in the waiting. We would hope for what’s to come tomorrow, because maybe today is your Saturday. You never know. It could be close. It could be Saturday.

Your Sunday is coming. I want to encourage you that it’s right around the corner. What you have been hoping for will come to pass— you just have to wait another day. One day, you’ll look back and be grateful for your Saturday. It’ll all be worth it, and you’ll have another reason to praise God for His faithfulness!

“The LORD is good to those who wait for him,

to the soul who seeks him.

It is good that one should wait quietly

for the salvation of the LORD.”

Lamentations 3:25-26

Stay dwelled in,

Emily
